In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The first 5 days God spoke everything into existence. Something different happened on the 6th day … God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” (Genesis 1:1, 26)
“Us” and “Our” are plural pronouns, which raises the question … Who was the other person with God
The answer is found in the first words of John’s Gospel … “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)
Who was John was talking about? His name is Jesus Christ, God’s son, but more accurately, Jesus is GOD.
The Apostle Paul expounds on who Jesus is (not was): “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:13-17)

WHERE TO START:
The beginning of anything is always the best place to start. Nowhere is that more important than when first starting to read and understand the Bible. A good way to begin is as follows:
- Genesis – Chapter 1 – Creation
- The Gospel of John: Jesus, the Son of God (4th book of the New Testament)
- Romans: “The Christian Handbook”. (6th book of the New Testament)
